Do you ever feel like you’ve got too much on your mind? So much that it feels exhausting to retain everything?
If you feel like this at this time of year, you’re not the only one. The cognitive overload is real!
As such, I have decided (with some prompting from my lovely wife) that it’s time to take a break from these updates until January. It might not be holiday time quite yet (at least for most of us), but close enough.
I am, in general, a strong advocate for a proper break for both learners and teachers. It helps them to come back refreshed and motivated. And for all that I talk about study skills, I believe that it’s best if students can get a good spell of time to relax, and not have to work too hard over the holiday period.
If nothing else, we can justify it in terms of the spacing effect!
I’ll send my next update on Monday 9th January, and intend to focus on the metacognitive aspects of creativity.
In the meantime, have a very happy Christmas, and all the best for the New Year! 🎄
