Hello! Well, we’re almost halfway into December, and the holidays don’t seem far away. How has this year gone for you, and what are your plans for 2024?
Mine include:
Speaking at some events or conferences (honestly, I haven’t entirely decided which ones yet…). It’s important to share knowledge and spread the word;
Working with several schools to support their work on memory and metacognition. I can help professionals to implement ideas, and learn a lot myself about how metacognition works in different contexts;
Completing my latest book, working title ‘Metacognition and Study Skills for Teachers’. Yes, I’m still writing—and there’s another book in the pipeline after that one!
Doing more research, including taking on new Masters and PhD students at Strathclyde.
Oh… and I’ll be continuing with these weekly updates, of course!
Things to Share
I mentioned a webinar last time, but I’ve no news to share on that yet. Look out for more in the New Year. However, I do have a couple of things to share. First, if you haven’t previously seen my Guide to Spacing and Interleaving, please check it out via the link below. Currently free, and I’ve had really good feedback on it!
GUIDE TO SPACING AND INTERLEAVING
You can also see me chatting about the concept of interleaving with two fellow educators in this video hosted by InnerDrive:
You can find out about what InnerDrive do via their CPD academy.
What’s Next?
As I mentioned, it’s nearly the holidays… and my new metacognition book is due with the publisher on Friday! 😅
So, I’m going to make this my last update until January. I’ll send the next one on Monday 8th January.
In the meantime, have a very happy Christmas, and all the best for the New Year! 🎄
